New Car: 2012 Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson Edition

Two of the most loyal vehicle fan bases have to be motorcycle and pickup truck owners. Most Harley-Davidson riders would never be caught dead on a Victory, or (god forbid) a Honda, just like most Ford F-150 owners would never let themselves be seen behind the helm of a Chevy Silverado or Ram truck. Perhaps that’s why Ford and Harley-Davidson teamed up to create the new 2012 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150, now complete with even more touches (like snake skin!) to make bikers feel more at home on four wheels.

The 2012 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 is the latest in a line of joint Ford-Harley-Davidson F-Series trucks dating back to 1999. Ford and Harley-Davidson’s latest effort comes standard with Ford’s 6.2-liter 411-hp V-8, producing 434 lb-ft of torque. All 2012 Harley-Davidson edition F-150s will also get machined-aluminum 22-inch wheels, a side graphic that mimics those found on Harley gas tanks, and two Harley-Davidson derived exterior colors: White Platinum Tri-Coat, and the obligatory Tuxedo Black.

The interior of the 2012 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 provides all the comfort and style that dentists – err, bikers, need while they’re saving their spines and towing their bikes to Sturgis, Hollister, or Daytona Beach. Interior panels of the joint Ford-Harley effort are covered in Tuxedo Black paint, while the lid of the center console and the upper half of both the steering wheel and seats are decked out in snake skin leather. The interior also features Harley-Davidson badges produced by the same company that makes badges on Harley bikes, and a limited edition serial number plate with the trucks VIN number and Harley-Davidson’s logo on the center console.

This is the tenth Harley-Davidson edition F-150 since 1999, and it also joins the six F-250 and F-350 Super Duty Harley-Davidson editions that have been produced, and the one F-450 Harley-Davidson edition. With history like that, we’re sure that the 2012 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 won’t be the last.
